The Sport of Rock Climbing and Hang -Gliding

Sport of Rock Climbing - Free climbing, that is,without artificial means of progression or supports as practiced in the rock cliffs and in the artificial walls of the gymnasiums.The number of climbers and of sites of artificial walls  for practicing are continuing to increase in Abruzzo. We are located between first quality routes and cliffs: Roccamorice, Petrella Liras and Pietracamela.

Free Flight  (Hang Gliding)- These forms of hang-gliding use  the deltaplano(delta shaped rigid chassis) or the parapendio ( paraglider-- a parachute-like glider  with sails  and cords) and do not use motorized propulsion. The  mountains of Abruzzo are excellent for this type of activity.Famous sites of take-off are:Tocco da Casauria, Gioia dei Marsi, Monte Cristo and Campo Imperatore.
